What Causes Pipe Failure?
If a water or sewer line is causing havoc, it may be that the pipe is simply ancient. Although pipes can last for several decades, even the strongest materials wear out eventually. Alternatively, the pipes may have undergone too much pressure because of a shift in the earth. Even the smallest movement of soil creates an immense amount of force that can affect the integrity of pipes. Yet another reason could be that tree roots are choking the lines. As tree roots are drawn to the water in underground sewer lines, they can actually break through the walls of the pipe and grow inside of it until it's completely blocked.
An even more common reason for pipe failure has to do with early corrosion. This often occurs when a pipe becomes clogged with debris, and residents try to fix it. The cleaners that can be found over the counter are actually highly corrosive. When much of the interior has been eaten away by hazardous chemicals, the whole pipe will need to be replaced.
What Occurs in Preparations for Repiping
Since there are so many causes for failed pipes, it is important to have our specialists take a close look at the line. Depending on the type of deterioration, we can determine whether only part of the line needs to be repiped, or if the entire pipe requires replacement. Additionally, our knowledgeable plumbing service techs will make sure that no other lines are crossing or touching the new pipes. Any extensive root systems that have been choking the current lines must be removed so as not to cause trouble to the new network. Once the area is clear of the remnants of the old line, our team at Bestway Plumbing and Drain can safely repipe using cutting-edge plumbing technology.
